We were among many contractors who were involved with this project. Our responsibility was to craft all of the finished wood applications throughout the house, in the old world style of distressed mill work and aged post and beams, including window and corbel assemblies custom milled to fit the various requirements. We either bolted, screwed (all stainless steel) or glued each exterior piece and caulked all with the highest grade exterior caulking. The interior corbels and uniquely designed pieces and all the major beams were detailed in the appropriate fashion as per the architectural designs
The installation of all exterior and interior wood was architecturally designed with authentic 18th century French/European motifs. We worked along side the owner, who had become, in his time, a very wealthy plumber (whose dream was to have a fabulous house with a major swimming pool complex of many pools flowing down into the main pool). That is why I included those pictures as well, of the beginning of his dream. And incidentally, he was out working with us on most days because he loved the construction atmosphere. A very humble and enjoyable client.
